RIDES
Whether it's a flight in a Vietnam-era Huey or Cobra helicopter, or a sightseeing flight around the area in authentic 1930s Douglas DC-3, purchasing a flight high above Madisonville and the Western Kentucky area will make for an exciting and memorable experience!
Rides will begin at 10am, and continue until the flying display start at 12:30pm. Rides will resume around 3pm, and continue until the end of the event. We recommend arriving early to secure your spot!
Please note that ride flights are operated independently from the air show. We ask that you contact the ride operators directly for any questions or inquiries.
FLAGSHIP DETROIT
DOUGLAS DC-3
Take flight on one of the most historic aircraft in history. Wings over Western Kentucky is pleased to welcome the Flagship Detroit Foundation and the 1937 Douglas DC-3. American Airlines operated "Flagship Detroit" in passenger service up through 1947, and during its time as a revenue-generating airliner even flew First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt on several occasions.
Flagship Detroit will be on static display during the air show and also conducting ride flights on Saturday, October 5th. Rides are sold on-site only on a first-come, first-served basis as space is available. DC-3 rides are $110 per person. Learn more about DC-3 rides here.

FOUNDATION
BELL UH-1 HUEY & AH-1 COBRA
Fly aboard the most iconic helicopters of the Vietnam War; the venerable UH-1 Huey and AH-1 Cobra. Designed by Bell in the late 1950s, the Huey revolutionized military helicopter operations with its versatility, reliability, and adaptability. It served in a variety of roles including troop transport, medical evacuation, and as gunships providing close air support. Huey rides are $125 a person.
Also present, and serving as the backbone to the U.S. Army's attack helicopter fleet for decades, the Cobra was specifically designed to be an agile and lethal platform capable of providing close air support to ground troops. Cobra rides are $800 per person.
